Look in the right places

It can be hard to find talented salespeople because they are more likely to already be employed, and hence won’t be actively looking for a new job.

You can advertise sales positions on job search websites but it also helps to place job ads where people might come across the them casually, such as via Facebook or LinkedIn, and encourage friends and colleagues to share the job post so it reaches a wider audience.

You should also be open to having a conversation with high profile salespeople even if you don’t have any current positions available. Start the conversation early and when you’re ready to welcome new people to your business they might be more inclined to listen to your offer because you already know each other.
